Mizoram Legislative Assembly – Committee On Petitions Holds Two-Day Orientation/ Study Session On Committee Functioning

Delhi, December 2025: Starting today, the Committee on Petitions of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly began a two-day study and orientation session at the Lok Sabha Secretariat, New Delhi, to learn about the working procedures and functioning of various parliamentary committees. The programme is organised by the Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracies (PRIDE) under the Lok Sabha Secretariat.

Leading the Committee on Petitions is its Chairman, Pu T. Lalhlimpuia, accompanied by two members—Pu H. Lalzirliana and Pi Prova Chakma. Officers and staff from the Mizoram Legislative Assembly Secretariat are also part of the delegation.

After the adjournment of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha sessions, the Committee held discussions with:

  • Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal, Chairperson, Committee on Estimates, Lok Sabha
  • Shri Chandra Prakash Joshi, Chairperson, Committee on Petitions, Lok Sabha
  • Dr. Raghab Prasad Dash, Advisor, AICTE, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India / Joint Secretary, Rajya Sabha Secretariat

The delegation engaged with them to gain insights and enhance their understanding of committee procedures and best practices.
