Grand Inauguration of Rajasthani Diaspora Day 2025 – Major Investments, Global Gathering of NR Rajasthanis
Jaipur, December 2025 : Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, the historic and grand inauguration of the first Rajasthani Diaspora Day-2025 was held on Wednesday at JECC Auditorium, Jaipur. On this occasion, Governor Shri Haribhau Bagde, Punjab Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, Union Minister for Industry & Commerce Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change Shri Bhupendra Yadav, Union Minister for Jal Shakti Shri C.R. Patil, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Shri Bhagirath Chaudhary, Vedanta Group Chairman Shri Anil Agarwal, Tata Power CEO & MD Shri Praveer Sinha, along with many eminent industrialists, diaspora Rajasthanis from India and abroad, and dignitaries were present.

On this occasion, Governor Shri Haribhau Bagde called upon diaspora Rajasthanis to come forward and invest in their motherland to repay their debt to it. He said that diaspora Rajasthanis have always helped strengthen Rajasthan’s socio-economic framework. The Rajasthani Diaspora Conference is a very significant medium to link the economic contributions of diaspora Rajasthanis to national development. He described Rajasthan as the land of devotion, strength, and Lakshmiputras. Reciting lines by the great poet Kanhaiyalal Sethia, “Dharti Dhora Ri”, he said that Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma should also take initiatives to encourage permanent residence of diaspora Rajasthanis in Rajasthan. He appreciated the Chief Minister’s efforts, stating that such a grand gathering of diaspora Rajasthanis brings great investment opportunities for the future.
Governor Shri Bagde further said that diaspora Rajasthanis should come to Rajasthan, and all facilities including human resources and land will be provided to them in a timely manner. He added that Rajasthan is no longer a drought-prone region; it is a green and fertile land. Referring to the Valmiki Ramayana, he said that when Lord Shri Ram conquered Lanka, Lakshman praised the golden Lanka, to which Shri Ram replied that he did not like golden Lanka, stating “Janani Janmabhoomi Swargadapi Gariyasi”, meaning mother and birthplace are greater than heaven. He appealed to diaspora Rajasthanis to cooperate in every sector for the development of Rajasthan, and to participate in initiatives that create youth employment through entrepreneurship. He also highlighted Rajasthan’s culture of “Padharo Mharo Desh”, saying the state is rapidly advancing toward development and diaspora Rajasthanis are most welcome.
Rajasthan’s youth power is the greatest strength – Shri Piyush Goyal
Union Minister Shri Piyush Goyal described Rajasthan as a state with an extraordinary balance of tradition, modernity, development, and heritage. He said the state possesses remarkable potential in Demographic Dividend, Dependability, Decisiveness, Devotion, Demand, and Diversity. He emphasized that Rajasthan’s greatest strength is its demographic dividend, i.e., a large young population driving rapid progress.
Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma’s 2-year achievements of uniting people
Shri Goyal highlighted the state leadership’s decision-making ability, reliability, and tradition of fulfilling promises, stating that Rajasthan is trusted because every promise is delivered. He said CM Shri Bhajanlal Sharma has united everyone during his 2-year tenure, and initiated the Rising Rajasthan industrial and investment program. Rajasthani Diaspora Day is the second major milestone in this journey. He noted that over 10 million diaspora Rajasthanis worldwide have maintained strong ties with both their place of birth and work, contributing to social work, patriotism, and nation-building. They enhance Rajasthan’s prestige globally and establish its true identity through their hard work, struggle, and success.
Shri Goyal said that Rajasthan has signed MOUs worth over ₹35 lakh crore, a large portion of which has been implemented on the ground. Through the One District One Product initiative, Rajasthan’s handicrafts and local products are gaining global recognition. Industrial, energy, tourism, and social sectors are growing rapidly, reflecting the combined efforts of diaspora and local industries.
Rajasthan has the potential to become India’s number one state
Shri Goyal emphasized India’s ambition to become a leading global economy of $4 trillion today and a top economic power by 2047, highlighting Rajasthan’s role in Developed India 2047. He stated that no force can prevent Rajasthan from becoming India’s number one state, given diaspora contributions and government initiatives.
NRR enhanced Rajasthan’s global prestige – Chief Minister
CM Shri Bhajanlal Sharma warmly welcomed diaspora Rajasthanis from around the world, calling the event a convergence of Rajasthan’s culture, tradition, and global identity. He stated that diaspora Rajasthanis remain connected to their soil and have enhanced Rajasthan’s pride globally. To honor their contributions, Rajasthani Diaspora Day is celebrated every 10 December, with the first grand celebration held this year.
14 new chapters of Rajasthan Foundation to be established
The CM announced the establishment of 14 new Rajasthan Foundation chapters (9 abroad, 5 in India) to strengthen ties between the state and diaspora community. He also announced next year’s Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit and urged diaspora Rajasthanis to participate in building a prosperous and modern Rajasthan.
New department for diaspora Rajasthanis
Shri Sharma stated that the National & International Rajasthani Affairs Department has been formed to serve the interests of diaspora Rajasthanis, providing a platform for dialogue, cooperation, investment, and cultural engagement. The NRR Policy 2025 was launched, offering a roadmap for recognition, facilitation, and investment for Rajasthanis worldwide.
The CM noted the significant role of Rajasthan in PM Shri Narendra Modi’s Developed India 2047 vision. He highlighted that following the previous year’s Rising Rajasthan Summit, ₹1 lakh crore in new MOUs were broken ground, with a total of ₹8 lakh crore of MOUs implemented on the ground. With over 24 new policies, Rajasthan has emerged as the most preferred state for investment. Infrastructure and energy projects, including new transmission networks, solar energy capacity, and the Mahi-Banswara nuclear project, are accelerating development.
Infrastructure and employment progress
The CM detailed achievements: 36,000 km of roads constructed, Jaipur Metro phase completed, Greenfield airport in Kota, container depots, modern logistics facilities, and industry support with uninterrupted power supply. Farmers benefited from schemes like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, interest-free loans, animal insurance, with a 6,363 MW increase in energy capacity and day-time electricity for farmers in 22 districts. Over 90,000 government jobs were provided, with 20,000 more soon.
Historic contribution of diaspora Rajasthanis – Shri Kataria
Punjab Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria said diaspora Rajasthanis have historically and exemplary contributed to Rajasthan’s development, supporting during droughts, crises, livestock protection, and establishing education centers. He urged diaspora to continue assisting Rajasthan, citing positive industrial progress due to central government support.
Right time for investment and industry – Colonel Rathore
Industry & Commerce Minister Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore stated that the government is implementing PM’s “Reform, Perform, Transform” vision. Policy reforms include private industrial park policies, allocation of 2,000 industrial plots, and environmental clearance facilitation. He called this “Right time, best time” for diaspora Rajasthanis to invest and establish industries.
Vedanta & Tata Power highlight industrial & energy potential
Shri Anil Agarwal (Vedanta) said Rajasthan’s mineral wealth can transform agriculture and industrial self-reliance. He pledged the country’s largest fertilizer plant to convert Rajasthan from yellow to green. Tata Power CEO & MD Shri Praveer Sinha highlighted Rajasthan’s 800 GW solar and 200 GW wind potential, calling it the nation’s clean energy “gold” and reaffirmed Tata Power’s commitment to the state’s green energy goals.
PM Shri Narendra Modi congratulates the government
The Prime Minister congratulated the state government for organizing Rajasthani Diaspora Day. The event included a film showcasing the cultural bond and heritage between Rajasthan and its diaspora. Groundbreaking of investment proposals worth ₹1 lakh crore raised total implemented projects to ₹8 lakh crore, and the coffee table book “Commitment in Action” documenting MOU progress and ground-breaking was released.

NR Rajasthanis awarded the Rajasthani Diaspora Award for exceptional achievements include Shri Anil Agarwal, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Vineet Mittal, Ajay Piramal, Madhav Singhania, Poonamchand Rathi, Narsi Kularia, C.M. Moondra, and Pradeep Rathore. The event saw participation from assembly leaders, ministers, MPs, senior officials, industry representatives, investors, and diaspora Rajasthanis from various countries.
