42nd Mizoram Secondary School Games Conclude at Vawi

Aizawl, December 2025: The 42nd Mizoram Secondary School Games, organised by the School Education Department, concluded today at Govt. Mizo High School Playground, Aizawl. Ms. R. Lalnunthari, Joint Director, School Education Department, attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest.

Addressing the gathering, Ms. Lalnunthari highlighted that sports and physical activities are an essential part of education. She said that to achieve academic excellence, students must take good care of both their mind and body, which requires regular physical exercise. If education is pursued alongside sports in a balanced manner, it benefits students mentally and physically. She encouraged students to maintain physical fitness and to balance studies with sports.

The four-day-long 42nd Mizoram Secondary School Games featured competitions in six sports disciplines—Athletics, Football, Volleyball, Taekwondo, Inkawibah, Inhruipawh and Kalchhet—held at various venues.

Overall Medal Tally:

• Aizawl District secured first place, winning 14 Gold, 4 Silver and 5 Bronze medals, with a total of 23 medals.
• Champhai District finished second, winning 4 Gold, 1 Silver and 8 Bronze medals, totaling 13 medals.
• Serchhip District claimed third place with 3 Gold, 8 Silver and 2 Bronze medals, also totaling 13 medals.
