Grand Rally and Awareness Program Held for the First Time in Chandrapur on World Tribal Pride Day.
Chandrapur : A grand rally and educational programs were organized for the first time in Chandrapur city on August 9, 2024, in celebration of World Tribal Pride Day. The event was held in association with the Project Office Chandrapur and Tribal Social Organization, with participation from students of 13 schools under the project office.
The program commenced at the Veer Baburao Shedmake Memorial in Chandrapur. On this occasion, State Forest and Cultural Affairs Minister and District Guardian Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, along with MLA Sudhakar Adbale, MLA Kishore Jorgewar, office bearers of social organizations, and officials, staff, teachers, and students from the participating schools, were present.
The Guardian Minister, Shri Mungantiwar, inaugurated the rally by waving the green flag. While addressing the gathering, he extended his best wishes on World Tribal Pride Day and highlighted the various schemes being implemented by the government for the tribal community. He also praised the Chandrapur Project Office for organizing such a significant rally.
Project Officer Vikas Rachelwar expressed his gratitude to all social organizations, school hostels under the Chandrapur project, and the officers and employees of the project office who enthusiastically participated and contributed to the success of the program. He noted that this was the first time such a large-scale event had been organized in Chandrapur city.
The rally featured nearly 30 tractors decorated with themes based on tribal culture. The procession started from Veer Shaheed Birsa Munda Smarak Jail Road, Chandrapur, passed through Gandhi Chowk, and concluded at Priyadarshini Auditorium. Following the rally, tribal dances, street plays, and student demonstrations were performed. The program was conducted by Shri Vaddettiwar, with Extension Officer Mrs. Kuttarmare delivering the vote of thanks.
The entire event was conducted under the guidance of Project Officer Shri Rachelwar. Present at the event were Assistant Project Officer D.K. Tingusle, G.M. Pole, R.S. Bongirwar, R.T. Dhotkar, Mr. Jagtap, Shri Patil, Y.R. Chavan, M.D. Girdkar, P.P. Kulsange, S.D. Srirame, P.B. Kuttarmare, Tribal Development Inspectors Amol Navalkar, Amol Shinde, Shri Kuntewar, along with other project office employees, tribal social organizations, school principals, and teachers.
The rally included displays on various topics such as government schemes for tribal communities, innovative activities implemented by the project office, tribal culture, the impact of Mission Shikhar on education, Birsa Munda’s work on water, forest, and land, various tribal languages of Maharashtra, traditional attire, Warli painting, and forest life.
