Two Years of Rajasthan Government: Strengthening Farmers’ Welfare, Prosperity, and Security
Jaipur, December 2025: On the occasion of completing two years in office, the Rajasthan government under Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma continues to work relentlessly for the welfare, economic empowerment, and prosperity of farmers, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for agricultural development. The state has taken extensive and forward-looking measures to strengthen farmers and the agricultural sector, providing financial assistance, interest-free crop loans, crop insurance, procurement at minimum support prices, irrigation and electricity facilities, livestock insurance, financial support to animal rearers, and programs for agricultural modernization. These initiatives have increased farmers’ income, reduced risks in farming, and encouraged youth to engage in agriculture.
PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi benefits 7.618 million farmers
The state has effectively implemented the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, ensuring benefits reach all eligible farmers. Rajasthan ranks fifth nationally in this scheme based on the number of beneficiaries. So far, 10,432 crore INR has been disbursed to 76.18 lakh farmers. The annual assistance has been raised from 6,000 INR to 9,000 INR per farmer to provide greater financial support.
Interest-free loans of 44,067 crore INR and crop insurance claims of over 6,207 crore INR
To strengthen farmers’ economic stability, the Rajasthan government has disbursed 44,067 crore INR in short-term interest-free crop loans, providing timely capital for sowing and agricultural activities. Additionally, 356 crore INR in long-term cooperative loans at concessional rates has been granted. Farmers have also received 44,558 crore INR in electricity subsidies. Under the PM Crop Insurance Scheme, claims totaling 6,207 crore INR have been paid, ensuring protection against natural calamities and crop losses.
Procurement at MSP: Over 8,000 crore INR paid
The government has procured crops at minimum support prices to ensure fair returns for farmers. 33.42 lakh metric tons of wheat were procured from 2.66 lakh farmers, along with a bonus of 471.16 crore INR. Furthermore, 12.60 lakh metric tons of pulses and oilseeds were procured, benefiting around 5 lakh farmers with payments totaling 8,191 crore INR.
Irrigation and electricity for 22 districts
Significant expansion in irrigation and electricity facilities has been undertaken to boost agricultural productivity. An additional irrigation capacity covering 84,592 hectares has been created at a cost of 10,418 crore INR. A total of 1.86 lakh new agricultural electricity connections have been provided, and farmers in 22 districts now receive daytime electricity supply in two blocks.
PM-KUSUM scheme: Rajasthan among top states
Rajasthan has excelled under the PM-KUSUM scheme, promoting clean energy and increasing farmers’ income. Under KUSUM-B, 51,927 solar pumps have been installed with a subsidy of 822 crore INR. Rajasthan ranks first nationally in KUSUM-A and third in KUSUM-C categories.
Livestock support: Over 84,000 families benefit from 634 crore INR interest-free loans
The government has strengthened farmers’ income through livestock initiatives. Under the Chief Minister Mangal Animal Insurance Scheme, 20.30 lakh animals have been insured. The Dugdh Utpadak Sambal scheme has provided 1,172 crore INR to 5 lakh dairy farmers, and the Gopal Credit Card scheme has benefited 84,604 families with 634 crore INR in interest-free loans.
Agricultural modernization: 1.02 lakh farm implements supported with 230 crore INR
To increase income, conserve water, and simplify farming, farmers have been provided subsidies for constructing farm ponds and water storage structures (43,327 diggis and farm ponds with 371 crore INR support). Assistance has also been provided for purchasing 1.02 lakh agricultural machines (230 crore INR), promoting micro-irrigation with drip and sprinkler systems for 2.21 lakh farmers (1,018 crore INR), fencing (29,926 km with 330 crore INR), and greenhouse/shade net covers (42.66 lakh sq. m with 197 crore INR).
