Sanjulta Seth Becomes a ‘Lakhpati Didi’, an Inspiration for Hundreds of Women

Raipur, December 16, 2025 : Through the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) ‘Bihan’, the life of Sanjulta Seth has undergone a remarkable transformation, emerging as a strong example of self-reliance and empowerment. Today, she is recognized as a “Lakhpati Didi” and has become a source of inspiration for hundreds of women.

After joining a self-help group under the Bihan scheme, Sanjulta Seth received training in various livelihood activities such as vegetable cultivation, tailoring work, and bag manufacturing. Along with training, she was also provided technical guidance and financial assistance, which enabled her to systematically adopt these activities and develop them into a sustainable source of income.

Self-Help Group Became a Strong Foundation of Self-Reliance

A resident of Tarda Gram Panchayat in Pusaur block of Raigarh district, Sanjulta Seth, by associating with the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) ‘Bihan’, has today established a strong identity as a “Lakhpati Didi” in the region. Earlier, her family depended solely on agriculture and was struggling with financial hardship. Due to limited income, meeting expenses related to children’s education, health, and household needs was a major challenge. During this difficult phase, she decided to join the Samriddhi Self-Help Group, which gave her life a new direction and fresh momentum.

A Strong Story of Financial Empowerment

Earlier, her annual income from agriculture was only Rs 55,000. However, through the self-help group, she received a bank loan of Rs 3 lakh, which helped her expand her livelihood activities. Today, she earns approximately Rs 1.65 lakh annually from multiple income-generating activities and is able to provide a dignified and stable life to her family.

A Living Example of Inspiration in Society

Sanjulta Seth believes that the schemes of the Central and State Governments have proved to be a boon for rural women like her. Today, she has not only become economically self-reliant but is also motivating women in her village and nearby areas to move towards self-dependence and financial independence.
