Drug free India campaign launched
On the occasion of International Youth Day, under the Drug Free India Campaign, on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the campaign by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, New Delhi, at 9:00 am, a program for taking a pledge/oath of drug-freeness for all the students, youth, women, employees/officers and general public on the theme of ‘Mantra of Developed India, India Free from Drugs’ was organized by Union Minister Shri Virendra Singh and Minister of State Ramdas Athawale, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
All the districts of India joined the said program virtually, in which people from 10 thousand places across the country joined the program virtually and took the oath of de-addiction. Today, in the Collector’s hall of District Mahasamund, Collector Shri Vinay Kumar Langeh, along with the officers and employees, joined the de-addiction campaign virtually and inspired them to work in accordance with the guidelines given by the Government of India. On this occasion, Municipal Council President Smt. Rashi Tribhuvan Mahilang was also present. Apart from this, Deputy Collector Shri Manoj Khande, Deputy Director Social Welfare Smt. Sangeeta Singh and other district officers and employees were present in the virtual program. After the program, oath was taken. In which oath was taken to save the society from addiction, not to do drugs themselves and to organize awareness programs to eradicate drug addiction from its roots.
After the oath taking ceremony, a rally was taken out in which 2000 people including the forest guards, young players from the sports department, cleanliness sisters from the municipality, all the employees of the social welfare department including the education department and school students were sworn in. Before the rally, the rally human chain was administered the oath by the collector Mr. Langeh. Thereafter it was flagged off. In the aforementioned programme, the oath of a drug-free India was taken in all the districts of the district and all the panchayats, schools, colleges and urban bodies under them and all the government offices.
