First Installment of Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana to be Distributed on August 17 – Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare

Thane : The “Chief Minister – Majhi Ladki Bahin” scheme will be implemented on a permanent basis, with the first installment to be distributed on August 17, benefiting over 1 crore women across the state, announced Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare.

Minister Tatkare made this statement during the Mahila Samvad Mela organized at Shahapur by the Mahila Economic Development Corporation. Present at the event were MLA Daulat Daroda, former MP Anand Paranjpe, District Women and Child Development Officer Mahendra Gaikwad, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Women and Child Development) Sanjay Bagul, District Coordination Officer of Women Economic and Development Corporation Asmita Mohite, as well as officials from Kayapalat Loksanchalit Kendra, Women’s Savings Groups, and Anganwadi workers.

During her address, Minister Tatkare emphasized that the funds for both July and August under the “Chief Minister – My Beloved Sister” scheme will be directly credited to the beneficiaries’ accounts on August 17. The primary objective of this scheme is to ensure that needy women receive the financial support they deserve. The scheme aims to fulfill the unmet desires of women who often prioritize their families’ needs over their own. To ensure that women have sole control over these funds, it is required that each woman has a separate bank account. Women who have not yet opened a bank account are urged to do so immediately and submit the application form for the “Chief Minister – Majhi Ladki Bahin” Yojana by August 31.

Minister Tatkare also praised the outstanding work of Anganwadi workers during the COVID-19 pandemic and announced that Anganwadi employees will be awarded graduation certificates. Additionally, a proposal for a salary increase has been sent to the central government. So far, 1.14 lakh women have been provided with smartphones, and over 4 lakh school uniforms are being sewn by women’s savings groups, providing each woman with Rs. 110 per uniform. Anganwadi workers are also being given Rs. 50 for each application they help complete under the “Mukhya Mantri- Majhi Ladki Bahin” scheme.

MLA Daulat Daroda, while addressing the audience, praised the work of the Kayapalat Loksanchalit Kendra, which has provided employment opportunities to many women. He requested that the government provide administrative support for the work done by this center.

Former MP Anand Paranjpe also spoke at the event, noting the positive response to the Chief Minister’s Beloved Sister Scheme. He urged all eligible women to submit their application forms by August 31 and cautioned against believing in rumors, assuring that the scheme will continue indefinitely.

Vijaya Gawari moderated the program and delivered the vote of thanks.
