Lucknow, Jan 2026 : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid homage to former Chief Minister/Governor Kalyan Singh on his 94th birth anniversary. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered floral tribute on Kalyan Singh’s portrait and said that ‘Babu Ji’ gave meaning to his name by linking it with the ‘welfare’ of Uttar Pradesh.

Kalyan Singh was the first BJP Chief Minister in Uttar Pradesh
The Chief Minister said that ‘Babu Ji’ was the first Chief Minister of Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh. In 1991, when he took the reins of Uttar Pradesh, there was disorder, anarchy, hooliganism, and terrorist activities were rising. The benefits of government schemes were not reaching villages, poor people, farmers, youth, and women. On one side there was mismanagement, and on the other side, the Hindu society was struggling to remove 500 years of slavery.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that he took charge of the BJP government for the first time. When he started his work, within a few months the people of the state began to believe that Uttar Pradesh will move towards good governance and adopt new milestones of development. The Chief Minister said that when the Ram Janmabhoomi movement reached its peak, respecting the feelings of Ram devotees and revered saints, he did not hesitate to sacrifice power for his worshipped Lord Ram. Babu Ji’s tenure will always be remembered for promoting good governance, development, and the nationalist mission in Uttar Pradesh.

CM Yogi said that today every Indian remembers Babu Ji. He was born in a farmer’s family. He studied the lesson of nationalism at the RSS school. His services as legislator, minister, MP, Chief Minister, and Governor will always be remembered by the people.
