“Scouting is a Way of Life That Teaches Us to Face Challenges”: Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai
Grand and Historic Conclusion of First National Rover-Ranger Jamboree in Village Dudhli, Balod
Raipur, January 2026 : Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai emphasized that scouting is a way of life that teaches individuals to be self-reliant in challenging situations, work with a spirit of teamwork, and remain dedicated to society. He made these remarks while addressing the grand closing ceremony of the First National Rover-Ranger Jamboree, held in Village Dudhli, Balod district, as the chief guest.
Shri Sai extended a warm welcome to Rover-Rangers and Scouts & Guides from various states of India, wishing them a bright future in Chhattisgarh—the maternal land of Lord Shri Ram and the ascetic land of Mata Shabari. He stated that the jamboree was not just an event, but a living celebration of unity in India’s diversity.
National Jamboree Reflects “Ek Bharat – Shreshtha Bharat”
The Chief Minister noted that hosting a national-level Rover-Ranger jamboree for the first time in India and selecting Chhattisgarh as the venue is a matter of pride for the state. He said the event embodies Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of “Ek Bharat – Shreshtha Bharat”. Participants from different states showcased India’s rich diversity through cultural performances, tableaux, and various activities.
Youth Are the Future; Scouting Instills Leadership
Addressing the youth, Shri Sai highlighted that the youth are the future of the state and the nation. Quoting Swami Vivekananda’s inspiring words—“Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached”, he urged young people to move forward with confidence and determination.
He added that values taught by the Scout-Guide organization—discipline, service, leadership, and teamwork—prepare youth for nation-building. Appreciating the service activities undertaken by Scouts & Guides during the COVID-19 pandemic, he acknowledged their significant role in keeping society aware and safe. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also administered a pledge to the youth under Prime Minister Modi’s “Child Marriage Free India” campaign.
Historic Participation of Over 15,000 Rover-Rangers
The five-day jamboree, held from 9 to 13 January, saw participation from over 15,000 Rover-Rangers from across India and abroad. The closing ceremony featured cultural programs from participants nationwide, filling the atmosphere with Indian art, culture, and camaraderie. The massive turnout made the event truly historic.
State School Education Minister and Scout-Guide State President Shri Gajendra Yadav said that under CM Shri Sai’s guidance, the national jamboree was successfully conducted. He highlighted programs like Youth Parliament, skill exhibitions, cultural exchanges, and tribal ethnic fashion shows, which provided youth with new perspectives and platforms. Shri Yadav was honored with the Silver Elephant Award by National Chief Commissioner Dr. K.K. Khandelwal.
Service, Dedication, and Participation Will Build a Strong India
National Chief Commissioner Dr. K.K. Khandelwal said that the core principle of scouting is: “To do good to others through your actions.” He added that a balance between tradition and modernity, along with a spirit of service, forms the foundation of a strong and developed nation.
The event was also attended by notable dignitaries including Shri Chandrasahas Chandrakar, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Seed Corporation, Shri Bharat Matiyara, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Fisheries Welfare Board, and other public representatives.
