Chief Minister assures better facilities for NCC cadets
New Delhi, January 2026 : The Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Rekha Gupta, on Thursday visited the NCC Republic Day Camp 2026 at the Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi Cantonment on the occasion of Indian Army Day. She was accorded a ‘Guard of Honour’ during the visit. She witnessed the march-past, brass band performances and cultural presentations by NCC cadets.
She also visited the ‘Flag Area’, where cadets from 17 NCC Directorates across the country showcased exhibitions highlighting national values, civic responsibility and nation-building.
The Chief Minister said that the NCC has, for decades, instilled discipline, unity, a sense of duty and patriotism among the youth. Cadets from different states, despite linguistic and cultural diversity, come together to reflect the unity of India, a true embodiment of the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’.
The Chief Minister visited the ‘Hall of Fame’ to gain insights into the history, training framework and achievements of the NCC, and also reviewed exhibitions on the Yuva Aapda Mitra initiative and drone training. She interacted with NCC cadets from across the country, encouraging and motivating them. The event was attended by the Director General of NCC, Lieutenant General Virendra Vats, along with senior NCC officers and cadets from various parts of the country.
Praising the unity, enthusiasm, discipline and patriotic spirit of the NCC cadets, the Chief Minister said that the day would remain one of the most cherished experiences of her life. The cadets’ performances, the fluttering Tricolour and the synchronised march-past created a powerful impression, as if the very heartbeat of the nation could be felt. Commending the NCC’s training system, she said it prepares young people for disaster management, leadership, national service and responsible citizenship.
Highlighting the NCC motto of ‘Unity and Discipline’, the Chief Minister described it as the foundation for patriotism, unity in diversity and constitutional values among the youth. Calling the cadets the future leaders of the nation, she expressed confidence that they would move forward in life with a lifelong commitment to serving the country. She said that today’s NCC cadets are tomorrow’s national heroes, who will lead the nation in various fields and remain dedicated to the service of the motherland.
Reiterating the Delhi Government’s commitment to providing better training facilities, infrastructure and necessary resources for NCC centres, the Chief Minister assured that the government would take all required steps to resolve training- and land-related issues concerning the NCC in Delhi. She said that strong shoulders, disciplined minds and unwavering dedication to the nation form the foundation of a ‘Viksit Bharat’. She also appealed to the cadets to march on Kartavya Path on Republic Day with pride, discipline, and a spirit of dedication.
