Kolkata Metro Railways Rededicates Mahanayak Uttam Kumar Station.

Kolkata; January 2026: On 15.01.2026 renovated Mahanayak Uttam Kumar (Tollygunge) Metro station on Blue Line has been rededicated to the passengers with cutting of ribbon by kids and women commuters in presence of officers and staff of Metro Railway, Kolkata. Station and the subway were renovated giving the building a facelift matching the theme of the station. Entry gates were relocated to reduce congestion for streamline movement of passengers.

Additional luggage scanner and door frame metal detector have been provided to improve scanning efficiency. The building façade has been provided with the improved illumination and station front with nice landscape gardens.
