Sw. Meenatai Thackeray Maternity and Dialysis Centre

To address the challenges faced in implementing the Maternal Child Care Program in the Thane Municipal area, the ‘Mukhya Mantri Matrutva Suraksha Yojana’ is being implemented. Under this scheme, maternity homes are being strengthened to provide quality services. The Late Meenatai Thackeray Maternity Hospital, under the Wagle Ward Committee, has been operational for the last thirty years with 10 beds. Due to the old construction of this building, issues such as water leakage and falling floor slabs arose. Under the Chief Minister Matrutva Suraksha Yojana, the structure has now been reinforced with an expenditure of around Rs.

The Sw. Meenatai Thackeray Maternity Hospital now includes a 7-bed ANC ward, a 10-bed PNC ward, a 2-bed recovery room, a new bone stabilization unit, a labor room, a modular OT (updated operating theatre), OPD, laboratory tests, sonography examination, and a 7-bed dialysis center.

In addition, the hospital offers daily obstetric services, normal and caesarean deliveries, family welfare surgeries, family welfare tools, daily consultations by gynecologists regarding women’s health issues, blood tests for pregnant women, sonography for pregnant women, as well as post-natal services. A newborn stabilization unit, equipped with phototherapy and baby warmer facilities, is also available for newborn care.

A seven-bed dialysis center is also being established at this facility. The dialysis machines have been provided free of charge through CSR contributions from Fairfax India and CSB Bank. The dialysis center will be operated by M/s Apex Kidney Care Pvt Ltd, providing free dialysis services to needy patients.
