Lucknow, January 2026 : The Yogi government is continuously taking concrete steps to make Uttar Pradesh the country’s leading state in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and future skills.
In line with the vision of CM Yogi Adityanath, the IT and Electronics Department has been directed to promote AI based innovation, digital skills and employment oriented technological development in the state.
Under this initiative on Tuesday, leading companies, policymakers, academicians and technical experts shared their views on AI innovation.
Sharing details, Principal Secretary, IT and Electronics, Anurag Yadav said, a state level AI Led Innovation and Capacity Building Conference was organized on Tuesday by the department’s Centre for e-Governance.
At the conference, discussions were held on topics such as Artificial Intelligence, digital skills, future skills, capacity building and employment generation.
The objective of the conference was to establish Uttar Pradesh as an AI innovation hub, strengthen the digital capabilities of youth and government officials, and develop strong collaboration between industry, government and academic institutions.
At the conference, leading technology companies from India and abroad shared their experiences and suggestions related to AI based solutions, the digital ecosystem and industry ready talent through presentations.
Global companies such as Microsoft, TCS, HCL, Google, Intel and the Wadhwani Foundation presented case studies based on the practical use of AI, skill development and future technological requirements.
At the same time, leading institutions such as NVIDIA, IBM, Red Hat, Sify Technologies and the 1M1B (One Million for One Billion) Foundation shared their views on cloud computing, open source technology, digital learning and global skill platforms.
Experts at the conference said, Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies are becoming a strong foundation for economic development, employment generation and good governance in Uttar Pradesh.
The vision of CM Yogi Adityanath is, the youth of the state should become technologically capable in accordance with future requirements and accelerate the state’s development journey by using modern technologies such as AI.
The Yogi government is giving priority to AI, digital skills and innovation at both the policy and implementation levels. During the technical sessions of the conference, a special presentation was given on the Government of India’s ‘Bhashini’ platform, highlighting the usefulness of multilingual digital empowerment and language technology in citizen services.
This initiative is considered important for a large and diverse state like Uttar Pradesh, where reaching services to the common citizen through technology is a government priority.
One of the major highlights of the conference was the signing of an MoU between the Centre for e-Governance and NASSCOM.
Under NASSCOM’s Future Skills Prime program, this agreement will prove to be a milestone in training the youth of the state in emerging technologies, developing industry relevant skills and creating new employment opportunities.
NASSCOM CEO Dr Abhilasha Gaur, while emphasizing the importance of AI and digital skill development, added Uttar Pradesh has immense potential in both talent and opportunities.
In the final session of the conference, the IT and Electronics Department presented ‘AI Pragya’.
The objective of this initiative is to connect 10 lakh citizens of the state with AI literacy, prepare them for future digital opportunities and make them capable of competing at the global level.
