Goodwill Visit to Pratima Abhange’s Solo Art Exhibition ‘Poorakalp’
New Delhi, Jan 2026 : When an artist’s roots are deeply connected to the soil, their artwork attains a global dimension. R. Vimala, Resident Commissioner and Secretary of Maharashtra Sadan, observed that the fusion of Indian philosophy and culture visible in Pratima Abhange’s paintings is truly remarkable.
R. Vimala paid a goodwill visit today to Pratima Abhange’s solo art exhibition ‘Poorakalp’ held at the prestigious Lalit Kala Akademi in New Delhi. During the visit, she closely examined each artwork and interacted with the artist.
She noted, “When an artist remains devoted to their cultural heritage and roots, their work reaches international heights. The profound expression of Indian philosophy and the beautiful confluence of culture in Pratima Abhange’s paintings is truly astonishing. Each of her artworks vividly reflects India’s living heritage, a fact that becomes strongly evident through this exhibition.”
The exhibition was also attended by Hemraj Bagul, Director of Maharashtra Parichay Kendra, Assistant Resident Commissioners Nitin Shende and Smita Shelar, and Public Relations Officer Manisha Pingle. Art lovers, senior artists, and dignitaries from Delhi were present in large numbers.
Earlier, the exhibition was inaugurated by Mrs. Mugdha Sinha, Managing Director of the India Tourism Development Corporation, who praised Pratima Abhange’s journey, emphasizing that “the courage to experiment is the true identity of art.” The exhibition will continue until January 25.
