Telangana Proposes Follow-Up WEF Meeting in Hyderabad to Strengthen Global Engagement
Davos, Jan 2026 : Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy proposed to the World Economic Forum representatives that a follow-up meeting be organized in Hyderabad during July–August, building on the annual WEF meeting held in Davos. At the Telangana Pavilion during WEF 2026, the Telangana Rising delegation, led by the Chief Minister, engaged in detailed discussions with Mr Jeremy Jurgens, Managing Director of the WEF Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR), and Ms Manju George, Head of Digital Economy Strategy at the Forum.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy shared his vision of showcasing Telangana’s investor-friendly ecosystem to the global community. He highlighted the state’s conducive industrial environment, progressive policies, and targeted incentives. He emphasized that hosting a follow-up meeting in Hyderabad would provide a platform to review the next steps and strengthen coordination between all stakeholders involved in strategic initiatives.
The WEF representatives responded positively, noting that a follow-up meeting would be valuable to track progress on discussions and decisions taken at the Davos summit. Mr Jeremy Jurgens observed that similar engagements, such as the annual ‘Summer Davos’ in China, have proven effective, and mentioned that Saudi Arabia has also expressed interest in hosting such initiatives. He stated that a decision on Telangana’s proposal would be taken in the near future.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy elaborated on the Telangana Rising 2047 vision, detailing the roadmap and ambitious targets to transform Telangana into a $3 trillion economy. Mr Jurgens appreciated the clarity and scope of the vision, recognizing strong opportunities for mutual collaboration, and reaffirmed the Forum’s commitment to supporting the Telangana Rising 2047 initiative.
The discussion also included a review of C4IR Telangana, launched during BioAsia 2024 in Hyderabad, the first thematic centre established by WEF in India focused on health and life sciences. Minister Shri Duddilla Sridhar Babu explained the three-zone development model under Telangana Rising—CURE, PURE, and RARE—and outlined the development of Bharat Future City as a net-zero greenfield smart city, envisioned as a national model for sustainable urban development.
Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy highlighted Hyderabad’s strengths across aerospace, defence, bio-design, software, and pharmaceuticals. He added that the state is placing particular emphasis on electric mobility and renewable energy sectors, reflecting Telangana’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and industrial leadership.
The meeting concluded with mutual appreciation for the clarity of Telangana’s vision, the state’s investor-friendly approach, and the shared interest in leveraging global partnerships to drive inclusive economic growth.
