A New Chapter in Increasing Farmers’ Income: PM-AASHA Scheme

Raipur, Nov 2025 : A New Chapter in Increasing Farmers’ Income: PM-AASHA Scheme

Under the Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan (PM-AASHA), Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has launched the Pulses and Oilseeds Self-Reliance Mission, aimed at increasing farmers’ income and achieving self-sufficiency in pulse production. The objective of the scheme is to procure pulses and oilseeds from farmers at the Minimum Support Price (MSP).

Boosting Pulse Production to Increase Farmers’ Income

The Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan (PM-AASHA) is a comprehensive government programme designed to ensure farmers receive remunerative prices for their produce by guaranteeing the Minimum Support Price (MSP). It comprises three key components: the Price Support Scheme (PSS), the Price Stabilization Fund (PSF), and the Price Deficiency Payment Scheme (PDPS).

The scheme aims to enhance farmers’ income and safeguard their earnings. Under this programme, 100% procurement of tur, urad, and masoor produced in the state will be carried out. For other crops—groundnut, soybean, moong, chana, and mustard—the Central Government will procure 25% of the state’s production through its procurement agencies, NAFED and NCCF.

Significantly, the government aims not only to increase pulse production to achieve national self-reliance but also to raise farmers’ incomes.

A Strong Step Toward Strengthening Farmers’ Economic Security

The government wants pulse-growing farmers to receive full value for their hard work and ensure timely procurement of their crops. To achieve this, the PM-AASHA scheme has been launched as a robust step toward enhancing the economic security of farmers. Under this scheme, farmers’ crops will be purchased at the Minimum Support Price (MSP).

Five Procurement Centres in Balodabazar District

Under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) of PM-AASHA, five procurement centres have been notified in Balodabazar district. These include:

  • Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Society, Balodabazar (Balodabazar block)
  • Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Society, Amera (Palari block)
  • Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Society, Dhurrabanda (Bhatapara block)
  • Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Society, Kasdol (Kasdol block)
  • Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Society, Simga (Simga block)

Farmers Must Register on the Integrated Farmer Portal to Sell Produce

Farmers willing to sell their produce under the scheme must register themselves on the Integrated Farmer Portal and specify their nearest procurement centre. By selecting the designated procurement centre during registration, farmers can market their produce accordingly.

Each notified crop has a procurement period of 90 days. Through this scheme, farmers can not only sell their produce at a fair price but potentially receive higher rates in the open market due to increased competition.

This entire system also supports the creation of favourable conditions for crop diversification.
