New Delhi, Sep 2026 : Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday spoke with the brother of C Vikram Singh, a guitarist from Manipur who was allegedly brutally assaulted and killed outside his residence in Delhi, and conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
According to information released by Gandhi’s office, the Congress leader expressed solidarity with the family and assured them that their demand for justice would not be ignored. He also listened to their concerns during the conversation and extended his support at a time of profound grief.
Senior Congress leader Pawan Khera also shared details of the interaction on X. He said Gandhi had spoken to Vikram Singh’s brother to express his condolences and reaffirm his solidarity with the family following the killing.
Vikram Singh, who hailed from Manipur and worked as a guitarist, was allegedly attacked outside his home in the national capital late on Sunday night. According to preliminary information, he had objected to a group of men who were allegedly drinking and creating a disturbance outside his residence.
The confrontation reportedly escalated into a violent assault, during which Singh suffered serious injuries. His son subsequently rushed him to a hospital for treatment, but the musician succumbed to his injuries on Monday morning.
The incident has left the victim’s family devastated and triggered demands for a thorough investigation and strict action against those responsible.
Delhi Police have arrested seven men and apprehended a juvenile in connection with the case. Authorities are continuing their investigation to establish the exact sequence of events that led to the fatal assault and determine the role of each accused.
Gandhi’s conversation with the victim’s brother came a day after Singh’s death.
