Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has directed that strict action be taken against those responsible for the deaths caused by spurious liquor in the Banda-Shahgarh area of Sagar district. He said no one responsible should be spared and directed a de-addiction campaign in the district to prevent such incidents from recurring. The Chief Minister also expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed that illegal liquor and related materials in the area be seized. He directed the authorities to ensure that law and order remains fully under control at a meeting with public representatives, police and administrative officials held today at the auditorium of Bundelkhand Medical College in Sagar. The Chief Minister said that the state government follows a zero-tolerance policy towards crime and anti-social activities.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed officials to conduct an intensive investigation not only in the district but also in adjoining and border areas. He said that any suspicious activity should be promptly investigated and that strict action should be taken wherever necessary.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stressed that fairness and transparency must be maintained throughout the process. He directed that the strictest action be taken against offenders while ensuring that no innocent person is subjected to action.
Strict Action Against Those Spreading Rumours
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed officials to keep a close watch on those spreading rumours through social media or other platforms with the intention of disturbing peace and communal harmony, and to take strict action against them.
Anti-Drug Campaign to Be Taken Forward with Community Participation
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav placed special emphasis on accelerating the anti-drug campaign across the state. He directed that the illegal drug trade be completely dismantled. He also called for effective awareness and de-addiction programmes in collaboration with voluntary organisations and social groups working for de-addiction.
State Has Provision for Stringent Law
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that during the tenure of former Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, stringent legal provisions were introduced, including Sections 49 and 304, prescribing punishments ranging from life imprisonment to the death penalty. He said strict action would be taken against those involved in such incidents. Collective Efforts Needed for De-Addiction
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said directions have been issued across the state to conduct de-addiction campaigns in collaboration with religious and social organisations, as well as through government initiatives at different levels. He said collective commitment at the social level is also necessary to tackle the problem of addiction.
CM Dr. Yadav Visits Hospital, Meets Victims and Consoles Families
To provide immediate relief and reassurance to those affected by the spurious liquor incident in Banda, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav visited Bundelkhand Medical College in Sagar. He visited the hospital wards, enquired about the condition of the admitted patients and interacted with their families. The Chief Minister assured them that the government stands with them in every situation.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav personally met each patient and reviewed their health condition. He also asked the families about their well-being and assured them, “Do not worry, the government stands with you in every situation.” The Chief Minister directed the BMC in-charge Dean, Superintendent and senior doctors to ensure the best possible treatment for the affected persons. He also directed that essential medicines, diagnostic tests and specialist services be made available round the clock.
