Advertisements issued for posts ranging from Assistant Teacher to PGT in the Secondary and Basic Education Departments
Recruitment to be held for 897 Assistant Teacher (Attached Primary), 11,508 Assistant Teacher (Urban), and 2,607 Lecturer posts
Lucknow, September 2026 : The state government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is continuously taking steps to provide new employment opportunities to youth and strengthen the education system. In this sequence, the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has provided a major opportunity for teacher recruitment in the Secondary and Basic Education Departments. The Commission has issued two important advertisements to initiate the recruitment process for a total of 15,012 posts in the Assistant Teacher and Lecturer Cadre (PGT) categories. This will provide thousands of educated youths in the state with an opportunity to become teachers.
Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission, Dr Prashant Kumar, said that the Commission has issued an advertisement for 897 vacant posts of Assistant Teacher (Attached Primary) in aided non-government secondary schools under the Secondary Education Department and 11,508 vacant posts of Assistant Teacher (Urban) under the Basic Education Department. In addition, an advertisement has also been published for 2,607 vacant posts in the Lecturer Cadre (PGT) in aided non-government secondary schools under the Secondary Education Department.
Under the advertisement issued by the Commission, recruitment will be conducted for the posts of Assistant Teacher (Attached Primary) and Assistant Teacher (Urban). A total of 12,405 posts are included under these two categories. Meanwhile, under Advertisement No. 06/2026, recruitment will be conducted for 2,607 posts in the Lecturer Cadre (PGT). Thus, a total of 15,012 vacant posts will be filled through the two advertisements.
The advertisement for the posts of Assistant Teacher (Attached Primary) and Assistant Teacher (Urban) was issued on September 15, 2026. The process of online registration and application will commence from September 16, 2026. The last date for candidates to deposit the application fee has been fixed as October 15, 2026. The last date for making corrections in the online application will be October 19, 2026. The written examination for these posts is proposed to be conducted on December 3 and 4, 2026. Through the recruitment process, selection will be made for 897 posts of Assistant Teacher (Attached Primary) under the Secondary Education Department and 11,508 posts of Assistant Teacher (Urban) under the Basic Education Department.
The Commission has issued an advertisement for 2,607 vacant posts in the Lecturer Cadre (PGT) in aided non-government secondary schools. The online registration and application process for this recruitment will commence from September 18, 2026. The last date for depositing the online application fee for PGT recruitment has been fixed as October 17, 2026. The last date for making corrections in the online application will be October 21, 2026. The examination for Lecturer Cadre posts will be conducted on December 15 and 16, 2026.
For the convenience of candidates, the Commission has implemented the One Time Registration (OTR) system. Candidates will be required to complete the OTR process before applying for the respective posts. Only thereafter will they be able to submit online applications for the advertised posts. The Commission has advised candidates to complete the registration and application process in time without waiting for the last date of application.
Commission Chairman Dr Prashant Kumar appealed to candidates to carefully study the detailed advertisement and instruction booklet available on the Commission's website and ensure their eligibility before applying. He clarified that no separate consultation regarding qualifications and eligibility for the advertised posts will be provided by the Commission.
