Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporations Should Control Flood Lines and Develop Additional Land – Minister of State for Urban Development Madhuri Misal
Mumbai : In view of making additional land available for development by regulating the flood lines of rivers flowing through Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, Minister of State for Urban Development Madhuri Misal has instructed officials to urgently submit a proposal to explore the option of river bunding, similar to the Gujarat model, and take a strategic policy decision.
A meeting was held at the Mantralaya regarding the development of new buildings, redevelopment of old structures, and full utilization of TDR (Transfer of Development Rights) in the flood-affected areas of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporations.
The meeting was attended by MLAs Mahesh Landge and Shankar Jagtap, along with officials from Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation including the Commissioner, Chief Engineer, Director of Town Planning (Pune), officers from the Water Resources Department, and other officials from the Mantralaya.
