Ministry of Health, Government of Singapore issued advisory against false social media news.
While addressing the Press & Media clarifying its stand on the 02 circulating social media news, the Ministry of Health, Government of Singapore has attributed both as – misinformation & false; along with advicing the mass to refrain from promulgating such inappropriate presentations which are substantially detrimental to the broader interest of the nation.
- Regarding COVID-19 autopsy findings – A message that had first circulated in 2021 has recently made its rounds again. It claims that Singapore is the first country in the world to perform an autopsy on a COVID-19 body and found that COVID-19 does not exist as a virus but a bacterium.
This is false. As clarified by the Ministry then, Singapore has not performed such an autopsy, and it is also not true that COVID-19 is caused by a bacterium.
- Regarding mandatory vaccination laws – There are social media posts claiming that Singapore has enacted laws to mandate vaccines and imprison unvaccinated individuals following Mr. Bill Gates’ recent visit to Singapore.
This is false. Singapore has not passed any laws on vaccinations after Mr Gates’ recent visit to Singapore.
