Maharashtra Has Lost a Fearless, Efficient and Administratively Astute Leader” – Minister of State Meghna Sakore-Bordikar

Mumbai, Jan 2026 : The sudden and tragic demise of the State’s Deputy Chief Minister Ajitdada Pawar has left everyone deeply shocked, said Minister of State for Energy, Women and Child Development, Public Works and Public Health, Meghna Sakore-Bordikar. She expressed that with his passing, Maharashtra has lost a strong leader who was fearless, efficient and possessed a deep understanding of administration.

In her condolence message, Minister Sakore-Bordikar said that Ajitdada Pawar always took clear and firm positions in public life. The decisions he took for the progress of the state, particularly during his tenure handling the finance portfolio, continue to serve as guiding milestones even today. His command over administrative nuances, strong grasp of data and numbers, and decisive leadership set him apart as a distinctive personality.

She further noted that despite political differences, Ajitdada Pawar consistently maintained a broad and inclusive perspective on issues related to development. His ability to rise above partisan considerations and focus on the larger interests of the state earned him respect across political lines.

Beyond politics, Ajitdada Pawar was known as a leader who valued personal relationships, maintained open communication with colleagues and upheld honesty and integrity in his work. His demise has created a void in both the political and administrative spheres of the state that will be extremely difficult to fill, she said.

Expressing solidarity with the Pawar family during this difficult time, Minister Sakore-Bordikar said that the entire state stands with them in their grief. She prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to endure this irreparable loss. On behalf of Maharashtra, she paid heartfelt tributes to Ajitdada Pawar in her condolence message.
