Vijay Reaffirms TVK’s Democratic Resolve as Party Enters Third Year in Politics

Chennai, Feb 2026 : Actor-turned-politician Vijay, the founder and leader of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), on Monday reaffirmed his party’s firm resolve to capture power through democratic means as the fledgling political outfit marked the beginning of its third year in public life. Reflecting on the party’s journey so far, Vijay said TVK had grown steadily and organically, remaining deeply rooted among the people rather than relying on traditional power centres.

In a message shared on social media platform X to commemorate TVK’s third anniversary, Vijay noted that the party had completed two years in politics in a “natural and measured” manner. He described the occasion as the start of a “joyful third year” and underlined that the movement’s progress had been shaped by public participation and collective belief rather than political opportunism.

Vijay emphasised that TVK consciously chose to evolve first as a people’s movement before aspiring to emerge as a dominant political force. “We stood with the people and as the people. The people know this, and good-hearted individuals know this,” he said, asserting that the party’s credibility and moral strength stem from its close identification with ordinary citizens and grassroots concerns.

Using vivid metaphors to define the character of TVK, Vijay said the party was an unyielding force that could neither be bought nor intimidated. He described it as “as deep as an immeasurable ocean that resists all temptations” and “as vast as a horizon that cannot be denied by anyone.” These descriptions, he said, reflected the party’s determination to practise a new form of politics—one rooted in integrity, public ownership and collective resolve.

According to Vijay, TVK represents a successful struggle to build political power in the hands of the common people. He said the movement was driven by dedication, sacrifice and unity, and that its growth symbolised a broader demand for change in Tamil Nadu’s political culture.

Shifting focus to the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Vijay asserted that the state’s political landscape was already witnessing an unprecedented transformation. “Everyone says our political arrival alone is the reason for this new atmosphere,” he remarked, claiming that TVK’s entry into active politics had altered public expectations and reshaped the tone of electoral discourse across the state.

Calling upon party workers and supporters to rise to the challenge ahead, Vijay urged them to channel this momentum into electoral success. He stressed the need for clarity of purpose, disciplined organisation and effective strategy to convert public support into victories at the ballot box. He said electoral success would further strengthen TVK’s political legitimacy and help it realise its broader democratic vision.

Appealing for unity and determination, Vijay asked supporters to stand together and fight with unwavering commitment. “With the overwhelming support of the people, let us fight unitedly and firmly achieve our democratic goal of capturing power,” he said, reiterating that the party’s path to governance would be guided by democratic values and public mandate.

Concluding his message on an optimistic and confident note, Vijay expressed faith in the party’s future and its mission. “Good things will happen. Victory is certain,” he declared, signalling TVK’s intent to emerge as a serious and credible contender in the 2026 Assembly polls as it embarks on its third year in politics.
