DGP Reviews Ajmer Range Crime in Bhilwara, Orders Strict Action Against Organized Crime and Drugs

Jaipur, February 2026 : Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Kumar Sharma on Monday chaired a detailed crime review meeting of the Ajmer Range at the Collectorate auditorium during his visit to Bhilwara. The meeting focused on crime control, pending investigations, law and order, and the overall effectiveness of policing across all districts of the Ajmer Range.

Ensure Constant Police Visibility
Addressing the review meeting, the DGP said Rajasthan Police has clearly defined priorities and directed all officers to act with commitment in line with these priorities. He emphasized effective patrolling and instructed that police visibility must be maintained at all times to instil a sense of security among the public and fear among criminals. He also directed a review of evening and night patrolling systems, proper briefing of deployed forces, and year-round implementation of road safety campaigns to curb road accidents.

Strict Action Against Organized Criminals
The DGP instructed officers to use provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita to conduct financial investigations into properties acquired by organized criminals and ensure lawful seizure of such assets.

Special Focus on Women and SC/ST Atrocity Cases
DGP Sharma conducted a point-wise review of cases related to crimes against women and cases registered under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. He also reviewed the Case Officer Scheme, actions taken under local special laws, preparation of e-evidence in Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita cases, arrests of wanted criminals, pending investigations, and preventive actions taken during 2025 and 2026. Immediate corrective measures were ordered wherever deficiencies were identified during circle-wise reviews.

Emphasis on Early Disposal of Pending Cases
The DGP directed investigating officers (IOs) and officers-in-charge (OICs) to ensure regular and continuous follow-up of pending cases. He stressed that delivering speedy justice to victims must remain the police’s top priority, with fair, swift and effective action in serious offences carried out with utmost sensitivity.

District-wise Review of Crime and Law & Order
Officers of the Ajmer Range briefed the DGP on police activities, the prevailing crime situation, and law-and-order challenges in their respective districts. Bhilwara SP Dharmendra Singh, Ajmer SP Vandita Rana, Beawar SP Ratan Singh, Tonk SP Rajesh K. Meena, Nagaur SP Mridul Kachhawa and Didwana-Kuchaman SP Richa Tomar presented district-wise reports.

Focus on Accountability and Timely Disposal
The meeting included detailed discussions on the status of pending cases, actions taken so far, and future strategies. The DGP emphasized fixing accountability, ensuring time-bound disposal of cases, and enhancing field-level vigilance, stating that effective and sensitive policing is key to strengthening public trust.

Senior Officers Present
The meeting was attended by ADG Law & Order V.K. Singh, IG Ajmer Range Rajendra Singh, DIG Kunwar Rashtradeep, along with SPs, ASPs, Deputy Superintendents of Police, SHOs and other police officers from across the range. ADG V.K. Singh also shared suggestions on crime control, while IG Rajendra Singh highlighted the overall achievements of the Ajmer Range at the conclusion of the meeting.
