Innovation, Technology and Indian Knowledge Traditions to Shape Modern Education: CM Bhajanlal Sharma
Jaipur, February 2026 : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that innovation, technology, and the Indian knowledge tradition should be actively promoted within the modern education system so that youth not only gain employment but also develop strong character. He emphasized that the state government is fully committed to improving the quality of higher education and making it more employment-oriented. The Chief Minister urged teachers to play their vital role in channeling the energy and capabilities of youth toward nation-building.
Addressing the inaugural session of the All India Institutional Leadership Conclave–2026 at the Rajasthan International Centre on Monday, Sharma said India needs an education system that beautifully blends tradition with modernity—where the wisdom of the Vedas coexists with artificial intelligence, Sanskrit verses are taught alongside coding languages, and yoga and meditation progress together with robotics and nanotechnology. He said the conclave’s theme, “Dialogue on Inter-Institutional Development,” is highly relevant, and meaningful change on the ground can be achieved when IITs, central and state universities, research institutions, and private educational bodies work together.
Youth Key to Achieving Developed India 2047
The Chief Minister noted that India is the youngest country in the world, with over 65 percent of its population below the age of 35. This demographic advantage is India’s greatest strength. By providing the right education, skills, and guidance, this strength can be harnessed to achieve Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Developed India 2047. He said Indian youth are excelling globally in startups, research, sports, arts, and other fields, enhancing the nation’s prestige. The government’s responsibility is to nurture their creativity and guide them so they remain globally competitive while staying rooted in Indian values.
Strengthening Digital Infrastructure in Higher Education
Sharma said the state government is continuously strengthening digital infrastructure in higher education and promoting research and innovation. Alongside education, ample employment opportunities are being created for youth. More than one lakh government appointments have already been made, recruitment is underway for over 1.54 lakh posts, and a recruitment calendar for another one lakh government posts has been released this year. Additionally, over two lakh youth have been provided employment in the private sector, around 3.5 lakh students have received skill training, and more than two lakh youth have benefited from internship opportunities.
351 Exams Conducted Without a Single Paper Leak
Highlighting transparency, the Chief Minister said that while the previous government betrayed youth through repeated paper leaks, his government has conducted 351 examinations without a single leak. He also listed several initiatives for youth empowerment, including the launch of 65 i-Startup Launchpad Nests, 17 new Khelo India Centres, establishment of 71 new government colleges, inauguration of buildings for 185 government colleges, and distribution of nearly 40,000 scooters to girl students.
Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Premchand Bairwa said the conclave aims to accelerate the Developed India 2047 mission through institutional collaboration, leadership development, and policy formulation. He highlighted India’s rich educational legacy, citing ancient universities like Takshashila and Nalanda, and stressed that the Indian knowledge tradition remains as relevant today as ever in the era of globalization.
Several eminent academicians, policymakers, and educators from across the country were present at the event, making the conclave a significant platform for dialogue on the future of higher education in India.
