Two Innovative Schools from Raigarh’s Remote Forest Region to Be Included in Educational Tour List

Raipur, February 2026 : Two innovative schools located in the remote forest areas of Raigarh district are set to be included in the official educational tour list, following an initiative by the district administration.

The process has been initiated to include the Government Primary School located in the hamlet of Lamikhair, under village panchayat Deurmar in Dharamjaigarh block, and the Government Model Tribal Girls’ Ashram School operating in village Godhi, in the educational exposure visit itinerary.

During a regional tour, Collector Mayank Chaturvedi conducted a surprise inspection of both institutions and appreciated the innovations, teaching environment, and holistic development-oriented activities being carried out despite limited resources. Recognising their exemplary work, the district administration has directed the District Education Officer to prepare a detailed action plan and forward a proposal to the concerned directorate. This will enable teachers and students from other districts across the state to visit these institutions for academic exposure and learning.

At the Lamikhair Primary School, a print-rich learning environment has been created along with science models developed under the “Kabaad Se Jugaad” (innovation from waste) initiative. The school also features a kitchen garden and an educational campus enriched with 128 varieties of plants. Under the “Muskaan Library” initiative, around 1,500 books are managed and operated by the students themselves. In 2025, eight students from this school were selected for admission to various reputed institutions, marking a significant achievement.

At the Godhi Tribal Girls’ Ashram School, students are provided not only with curriculum-based education but also with practical skills and moral values. The institution focuses on the overall development of girls through experiential learning and character-building activities.

Both institutions are emerging as inspiring models of quality education in forest and tribal regions, demonstrating how innovation, dedication, and community involvement can overcome infrastructural limitations and deliver impactful educational outcomes.
