Iran’s Foreign Policy To Continue Relying On Khamenei’s Legacy.

Moscow; March 2026: Iran’s foreign policy will continue to draw on the legacy of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali said in an article. “The intellectual legacy of this great architect and the strategy of resistance will unequivocally continue to be a firm foundation of the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran”, the diplomat stated.

Commenting on the consequences of the current US and Israeli aggression against Iran, the ambassador emphasised that “the international community, from a legal standpoint, expects not only the condemnation of those responsible for this crime but also the adoption of responsible measures”.

The United States and Israel launched a large-scale military operation against Iran on February 28. Major Iranian cities, including Tehran, were struck. The White House justified the attack by citing alleged missile and nuclear threats from Iran. As a result of the strikes, Khamenei, and several other senior figures in the leadership of the Islamic Republic were killed. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced a retaliatory operation, targeting sites in Israel. US military bases in Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia were also hit.

The Iranian Ambassador to Russia has further asserted that, war criminals responsible for the deaths of 165 girls in a strike on a primary school in Iran will face criminal charges. “The rocket attacks on civilian areas in Minab and Lamerd, particularly the strike on the Shajareh Tayyebeh primary school for girls, which killed 165 pupils, are a clear violation of international humanitarian law. Under the Fourth Geneva Convention and Additional Protocol I, disregarding the principle of distinction between military and civilian targets, failing to comply with proportionality, and not taking precautions make this attack a war crime, entailing international criminal responsibility for its organisers and perpetrators”, the diplomat noted.

The Turkish Anadolu Agency has published that the United States armed forces have spent around $779 million in the first 24 hours of military operations in the Middle East, or roughly 0.1% of their total military budget for 2026. The largest share of spending during the first day was for the launch of Tomahawk missiles, which cost the military about $ 340.4 million’s, the report said. This was followed by expenditures on fighter jet sorties totaling $ 271.3 million’s.

The third-largest category included the use of HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, as well as intelligence gathering and logistical support, which together cost the US armed forces around $ 122.2 million’s. Strikes carried out by B-2 strategic bombers alone cost Washington approximately $ 30.2 million’s.
