CM Hemant Soren Participates in ‘Baha Festival’ in Ancestral Village

Ranchi, March 2026 : Chief Minister Hemant Soren participated in the traditional Baha Festival celebrated in his ancestral village Nemra. On the occasion, he offered prayers at the village’s sacred Jaher Than and prayed for the happiness, prosperity, well-being, and progress of the people of the state.

The Chief Minister, along with his family, joined villagers in the celebration and walked from his residence to Jaher Than as part of the traditional rituals associated with the festival. The religious ceremonies were conducted according to tradition by village priest Chaitan Tudu (Naike Baba/Pahan) and assistant priest Chhotu Besra (Kudam Naike Baba).

As in previous years, Chief Minister Hemant Soren visited his ancestral village to take part in the festival. Villagers from Nemra and surrounding areas were excited to see him among them. Following local customs, villagers accompanied the Chief Minister to Jaher Than while playing traditional instruments such as mandar drums, nagadas, and other folk instruments. The Chief Minister also joined them and played the mandar drum, encouraging the villagers’ enthusiasm.

Residents warmly welcomed and greeted the Chief Minister on the occasion.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren had arrived in Nemra on a two-day visit along with his wife and Kalpana Soren. As news of his visit spread, a large number of people from nearby areas gathered in the village to meet him. The Chief Minister interacted warmly with the residents, listened to their concerns, and extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to everyone on the occasion of the Baha Festival.
