PM Releases 22nd Installment of PM-KISAN; Over ₹1,355 Crore Transferred to Rajasthan Farmers

Jaipur, March 2026 : Bhajanlal Sharma said that farmers are the backbone of the nation and the government remains firmly committed to their welfare. He stated that Narendra Modi has released the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, transferring funds directly to the bank accounts of millions of farmers across the country.

According to the Chief Minister, more than 66.76 lakh farmers in Rajasthan have benefited from the latest installment, receiving over ₹1,355 crore under the scheme. He emphasized that the government stands with farmers in every circumstance and continues to implement policies aimed at strengthening the agricultural sector.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the national event from Guwahati, where he also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for several development projects. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma joined the programme virtually from the State Institute of Agricultural Management in Durga Pura and listened to the Prime Minister’s address.

During his remarks, Sharma said that farmers have always been a top priority for the Prime Minister. Under Modi’s leadership, agricultural policies have adopted a new vision that recognizes farmers as a key strength of the nation. The Prime Minister’s commitment, he said, is to ensure that Indian farmers become prosperous, and the PM-KISAN scheme plays a major role in that effort.

Highlighting state initiatives, the Chief Minister said the Rajasthan government has also launched the Chief Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, which provides an additional ₹3,000 annually to eligible farmers. He added that the government is committed to gradually increasing this assistance to ₹12,000 per year.

Sharma further stated that under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, compensation payments to farmers have been higher than in the previous administration. So far, ₹6,473 crore in insurance claims has been distributed in the state.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the government’s increased focus on agriculture in the state budget. For the 2026–27 financial year, the agriculture budget has been raised by 34 per cent to ₹1,19,408 crore, marking a historic increase compared to the final year of the previous government in 2023–24.

In addition, the state has issued free insurance policies for over 16 lakh livestock under the Mukhyamantri Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana. Around 536 mobile veterinary vehicles are currently providing services in villages.

The government is also supporting livestock farmers through the Rajasthan Cooperative Gopal Credit Card Scheme, which offers interest-free loans up to ₹1 lakh. So far, loans worth more than ₹682 crore have been distributed under the scheme.

To strengthen rural infrastructure, the Chief Minister said the state is building new warehouses and improving storage capacity under the Anaj Bhandaran Yojana. The government has already completed warehouses with a capacity of 500 metric tonnes, and the 2026–27 budget includes provisions for building 50 more such facilities.

Sharma also noted that farmers in the state have received over ₹50,000 crore in interest-free short-term crop loans, benefiting more than 78 lakh farmers. Electricity supply during daytime has been ensured in 22 districts, and subsidies worth ₹50,833 crore have been provided on power bills for agricultural consumers.

The Chief Minister added that the government is working to increase farmers’ income while reducing production costs through solar pumps, drip irrigation, and farm pond development. He also said the administration has fulfilled 73 per cent of the promises made in its election manifesto and remains committed to further strengthening farmer welfare initiatives.
