Lucknow, March 2026 : On the occasion of Vasant Navratri, under the ‘Mission Shakti 6.0’ campaign, street plays based on the nine forms of Navdurga and public awareness rallies were organized across all primary, upper primary, composite schools, and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) in the state. A total of 2,42,825 children, 26,428 teachers, and 55,247 parents actively participated, spreading messages of child rights, safety, and women empowerment to the masses.

Under this special campaign, students brought the nine forms of Navdurga to life through street performances. During rallies, children carried placards displaying helpline numbers and messages related to child rights, safety, and education, while raising powerful slogans to spread awareness among the public.

Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh stated that through ‘Mission Shakti,’ the state government is continuously working to make girls empowered, safe, and self-reliant. The messages delivered by children through street plays and awareness rallies are highly impactful and inspiring, playing a crucial role in bringing positive social change.
Social Awareness Through Street Plays
Students creatively connected the forms of Navdurga with social themes in their performances. Topics such as girls’ safety, importance of education, gender equality, and self-reliance were presented effectively, fostering awareness and sensitivity among the audience.
Focus on Child Rights and Safety
Through rallies, children were educated about their rights, safety measures, and helpline services. Their slogans and messages reflected awareness of their rights and readiness to raise their voices against injustice.
A Strong People’s Campaign
The active participation of parents and teachers gave the campaign the form of a large public movement. Extending beyond schools into society, the initiative is proving to be a significant step toward empowering girls.
