BJP Chief Nitin Nabin Begins Key Bengal Visit Ahead of Assembly Polls

New Delhi, March 2026 : Nitin Nabin is set to arrive in West Bengal on Tuesday for a crucial two-day visit aimed at strengthening the party’s organisational structure ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. This will be his first visit to the state since the election announcement, signalling the party leadership’s renewed focus on one of the country’s most significant political battlegrounds.

According to party sources, the visit is part of a broader strategy to energise grassroots workers and enhance campaign preparedness. During his stay on March 24 and 25, Nabin will hold a series of high-level meetings in Kolkata with senior state leaders, campaign coordinators, and members of the core committee.

The discussions are expected to focus on strengthening booth-level management, improving coordination between the central and state leadership, and refining communication strategies to better connect with voters. Party insiders said that special emphasis will be placed on addressing organisational gaps identified in previous elections and ensuring a more cohesive campaign approach.

A senior BJP leader from the state unit indicated that the meetings will primarily revolve around preparations for the upcoming two-phase Assembly elections scheduled for next month. The party is keen to consolidate its support base and expand its outreach across key constituencies.

In parallel, the BJP is also gearing up to release its election manifesto, referred to as a “Sankalp Patra,” later this week. Sources suggest that the document is likely to be unveiled on March 28, with efforts underway to have Union Home Minister Amit Shah present in the state to launch it at a major public event.

Before the official release, the state leadership is expected to review and finalise the manifesto’s contents in consultation with Nabin during his visit. The document is likely to outline the party’s vision, key promises, and policy priorities for the state.

Meanwhile, the ruling Trinamool Congress has already released its manifesto on March 20, presenting a 10-point development agenda. The manifesto plans of the CPI(M)-led Left Front and the Congress are yet to be announced.

Nabin’s visit is being closely watched as the BJP looks to sharpen its electoral strategy and strengthen its presence in West Bengal ahead of the polls.
