Biggest Crackdown on Single-Use Plastic in State

Jaipur, March 2026 : In the largest action taken so far against banned plastic in the state, a joint enforcement drive by the Jaipur Municipal Corporation and the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board led to the seizure of 9,000 kg of plastic from a factory located in Sarna Doongri.
The कार्रवाई was carried out under the directions of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Gaurav Saini. Officials found illegal storage and sale of single-use plastic and plastic carry bags at the site. As a result, approximately 9,000 kilograms of banned plastic was confiscated, and a fine of ₹1 lakh was imposed on the traders involved.
The operation was conducted by a challan cell team led by Deputy Commissioner (Health) Mrinal Kumar. He stated that the use, storage, and sale of banned plastic are strictly prohibited, yet some traders continue to violate the rules. He warned that strict कार्रवाई will continue against such offenders.
Officials noted that similar drives had been conducted earlier as well, but this marks the biggest seizure to date in the state.
Municipal Commissioner Dr. Gaurav Saini appealed to residents and business owners to avoid the use of single-use plastic and cooperate in environmental conservation efforts. He cautioned that stricter measures would be taken in the future against violators.
