Khelo India Tribal Games 2026: Silvan Beihrothatlo Wins Gold in 71 kg Weightlifting
Raipur, March 2026: The senior men’s 71 kg weightlifting competition at the Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 witnessed an exciting contest at the Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University ground in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Talented athletes from across the country delivered impressive performances, creating a thrilling atmosphere for spectators.

Silvan Beihrothatlo from Mizoram emerged as the standout performer, clinching the gold medal with a remarkable display of strength and technique. Maintaining excellent balance in both the snatch and clean & jerk events, he lifted a total of 281 kg to secure the top position.
Manjunath Marati from Karnataka delivered a strong performance to win the silver medal, lifting a total of 270 kg. He showcased solid technique and determination in a closely fought competition.
Tayar Ronik from Arunachal Pradesh also impressed, securing the bronze medal with a total lift of 255 kg. Several other participants, including Harshit Bage from Jharkhand, Manas Jyoti Mech from Assam, and Sreekuttankuttan from Kerala, displayed commendable performances and added to the intensity of the competition.
The Khelo India Tribal Games, being आयोजित for the first time in the country, are not only providing a national platform for tribal talent but also bringing together the diverse sporting cultures of different states.
