CM Relief Fund Meeting Approves Aid Worth ₹4.70 Crore for Victims

Patna, April 2026: The 24th meeting of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund Trust was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at the ‘Sankalp Hall’ located at 1 Anne Marg. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on various matters related to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, and necessary directions were issued to concerned officials.

  • Assistance is provided to people during disaster situations through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Apart from this, people are also helped in various other circumstances. This fund plays a very important role in providing relief and support to the public.
  • In the meeting, approval was granted for expenditure of a total of ₹4 crore 70 lakh 50 thousand as ex-gratia assistance. This includes aid to the families of 89 deceased persons from Bihar who died in various accidents outside the state, 41 seriously injured persons, and families of 72 individuals who died due to different disasters within the state.

During the meeting, it was stated that financial assistance has also been extended in relief camps. An amount of ₹38 lakh 19 thousand 70 was spent on the purchase of utensils, clothes, and other essential items for people staying in relief camps, including for children born in such camps. This expenditure was approved in the meeting.

Additionally, for adolescents aged 14 to 18 years who have been rescued from child labour, financial assistance has been provided for their rehabilitation. A total amount of ₹86 lakh has been disbursed to the Labour Resources Department at the rate of ₹25,000 per child for their rehabilitation.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the Relief Fund is crucial in helping people during disasters and other emergencies, ensuring timely assistance and support to those in need.

The meeting was attended by Disaster Management Minister Narendra Prasad, Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar, Director General of Police Vinay Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary of the Cabinet Secretariat Department Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, Additional Chief Secretary of the General Administration Department Dr. B. Rajendra, Secretary to the Chief Minister Anupam Kumar, Health Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, Finance Department Secretary (Expenditure) Rachna Patil, along with other senior officials.
