Rajasthan Foundation Day Celebrated in Bengaluru; CM Bhajan Lal Sharma Urges Diaspora to Join AgriTech Meet

Jaipur, April 2026: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Sunday attended the Rajasthan State Foundation Day celebrations at Karnataka Lok Bhavan in Bengaluru. Addressing the gathering, he said the foundation day of Rajasthan is not merely a date but a symbol of the state’s timeless culture, rich traditions, and unity.

He noted that the state government has taken an initiative since last year to celebrate Rajasthan Foundation Day according to the Indian calendar—on Chaitra Shukla Pratipada—instead of following the Gregorian date, in order to align the celebrations with traditional values.

Highlighting the role of the diaspora, the Chief Minister described Non-Resident Rajasthanis as cultural ambassadors of the state. He praised them for preserving and promoting Rajasthan’s heritage and traditions despite living far from their homeland. “Even while staying away from their native soil, they continue to uphold the essence of Rajasthan’s culture,” he said.

He also acknowledged the enthusiastic participation of the diaspora in initiatives such as “Karmabhoomi Se Janmabhoomi,” through which expatriate Rajasthanis contribute to the development of their home state. Their involvement, he said, reflects a strong emotional and cultural bond with Rajasthan.

The Chief Minister further informed that the state government had organised the first Pravasi Rajasthani Day on December 10, 2025, in Jaipur, aimed at bringing together Rajasthanis living across India and abroad on a single platform. The initiative, he added, was a significant step toward strengthening connections with the global Rajasthani community.

Inviting the diaspora to play a more active role in the state’s development, Sharma urged them to participate in large numbers in the upcoming Global Rajasthan AgriTech Meet, scheduled to be held from May 23 to 25. He emphasised that such platforms offer opportunities for investment, innovation, and collaboration in the agriculture and technology sectors.

The event at Lok Bhavan witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including Thawar Chand Gehlot, along with a large number of expatriate Rajasthanis residing in Karnataka.

The celebration reflected the enduring connection between Rajasthan and its diaspora, showcasing how cultural identity continues to thrive beyond geographical boundaries while contributing to the state’s growth and global outreach.
