Lakhpati Didi Malti Vishwas: A New Symbol of Women Empowerment in Chhattisgarh
Raipur, April 2026 : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, efforts toward women empowerment in Chhattisgarh are now yielding tangible results. Self-help group-based initiatives in the state are not only strengthening the rural economy but are also emerging as an effective means of making women self-reliant.
In this context, Mrs. Malti Vishwas from Silphili village in Surajpur district has achieved an inspiring milestone through her dedication, hard work, and determination. Today, she is known as a “Lakhpati Didi” and has set a strong example of collective empowerment by providing employment to 14 other women.
From Household Boundaries to Entrepreneurial Success
Once confined to the household, Malti Vishwas has now established herself as a successful entrepreneur. Having developed an interest in stitching and embroidery from a young age, she began a new chapter in her life by joining a self-help group, inspired by her mother.
After joining the group, she not only gained awareness about government schemes but also received financial support. She started her boutique business with a loan of Rs 1 lakh, transforming her skills into a steady source of income.
Expansion Brings New Recognition
Her dedication to work and growing customer trust motivated Malti to expand further. She took an additional loan of Rs 5 lakh to grow her business, adding cosmetics and garment trade to her boutique operations.
Today, her enterprise has evolved into a robust business that serves as a major source of income for her and also provides employment opportunities for other women.
Transforming Lives of 14 Women
The 14 women associated with Malti Vishwas are now earning regular incomes through stitching, embroidery, and related activities. This has improved their families’ financial conditions and enabled them to live with dignity and self-respect.
This initiative goes beyond employment, strengthening women’s confidence, social participation, and decision-making abilities.
Government Schemes as the Foundation of Change
Malti Vishwas credits her success to state government schemes and the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. She believes that with proper guidance, training, and financial support, rural women can achieve remarkable success.
