Power Staff Brave Adverse Conditions to Restore Electricity Supply in Jaipur

Jaipur, May 2026: Power department personnel worked tirelessly under challenging conditions to restore electricity supply across several parts of Jaipur after a severe storm and rain disrupted the power infrastructure on Saturday evening.

The strong winds and rainfall caused significant damage to the electricity network in multiple circles of the Jaipur Discom. Tree branches, hoardings, and debris fell on power lines and conductors, leading to widespread outages. However, engineers and fault rectification teams responded promptly, managing to restore power in most affected areas by late night.

Immediately after the storm, Technical Director R.K. Sharma reached the centralized call center at Ram Mandir and began closely monitoring complaints related to power outages. Discom Chairman Aarti Dogra also visited the call center around 11:30 p.m. and remained there until nearly 1 a.m., overseeing restoration efforts and coordinating with field teams.

Officials, including executive and assistant engineers across all four Jaipur circles, worked continuously to ensure supply was resumed as quickly as possible. Areas severely impacted included Chomu, Jobner, Dudu, Hathoj, Harmada, and Jamwaramgarh in Jaipur district, along with city localities such as Vaishali Nagar, Murlipura, Vishwakarma Industrial Area, Jagatpura, and colonies along Sikar Road. Power supply in most of these areas was restored during the night itself.

Out of 435 feeders affected across 11 kV and 33 kV lines, supply was successfully restored in 408 feeders. The storm damaged 333 distribution transformers and 1,552 electric poles in Jaipur district’s north and south circles. By Sunday afternoon, 239 transformers and 1,295 poles had been repaired.

The impact of the storm extended beyond Jaipur to nearby districts including Dausa, Tonk, and Kotputli. Across the Jaipur zone, a total of 433 transformers and 2,351 electric poles were damaged. Of these, 305 transformers and 1,711 poles were repaired by Sunday afternoon.

Electricity supply was disrupted in 2,784 villages, towns, and urban areas across Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Kota zones. Power has already been restored in 2,506 locations, while restoration work continues in the remaining areas.

The centralized call center registered 2,245 complaints related to power disruptions, out of which 2,171 have been resolved. Only 74 complaints remain pending, with teams actively working to address them.

Authorities have commended the dedication and swift response of electricity personnel, who ensured that normalcy was restored in most areas despite the adverse weather conditions.
