India Secures Four Medals at Paris Paralympics 2024
At the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, India won four medals today, including one gold, one silver, and two bronze. Avani Lekhara and Mona Agarwal claimed gold and bronze respectively in the women’s 10m Air Rifle event. Avani surpassed her previous record from the Tokyo Games, finishing with a total of 249.7 to set a new Paralympic record in the category. Her previous best was 249.6, achieved in Tokyo. Mona’s bronze marks her first medal at the Paris Paralympics, where she made her debut.
Manish Narwal earned a silver medal in the men’s 10-meter Air Pistol event, scoring 234.9. The 22-year-old, who won gold in the Mixed 50-meter Pistol event at the Tokyo Paralympics, initially held the lead in the final round of stage 2 but eventually finished second. Preeti Pal took bronze in the women’s 100-meter sprint, achieving a personal best time of 14.21 seconds to secure third place in the final.
