Guardian Minister Shambhuraj Desai Performs Water Puja at Koyna Dam
Satara : With the Koyna Dam holding a record 100 TMC of water, Guardian Minister Shambhuraj Desai conducted a water puja at the reservoir. The ceremony celebrated the dam’s substantial water storage.
The event was attended by Collector Jitendra Dudi, Chief Executive Officer Yashni Nagarajan, Superintendent of Police Sameer Sheikh, Tehsildar Anant Gurav, Superintending Engineer of the Water Resources Department Arun Naik, Superintending Engineer of the Public Works Department Santosh Rokade, Executive Engineer Nilesh Podar, Assistant Engineer Sagar Patil, and Ashish Jadhav, among others.
Minister Desai performed the ritual to honor the water of the Koyna Dam, acknowledging its significance. He remarked that the Koyna Dam is considered a lifeline for Maharashtra and has been crucial to the prosperity of the state, particularly in Western Maharashtra. With the dam now filled to its capacity of 100 TMC, it addresses both irrigation and power generation needs. Minister Desai highlighted that this will benefit not only Satara district but also Sangli district.
