Students Should Embrace Social Values Along with Knowledge: Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde

Inauguration of New Building of Shri Narayan Guru College in Chembur

Mumbai, May 2026 : Education is a powerful medium for building society and the nation, and the message of “be educated, gain knowledge, and become empowered” given by Shri Narayan Guru continues to remain highly inspiring, said Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. He urged students to not only acquire knowledge but also imbibe strong social values.

The Deputy Chief Minister was speaking at an event organised on the occasion of the golden jubilee year of Shri Narayan Guru High School in Chembur and the 62nd foundation day of the Shri Narayan Temple Committee. During the programme, he inaugurated the new building of Shri Narayan Guru College.

Paying tribute to the teachings of Shri Narayan Guru, Shinde said that over the past 62 years, the Shri Narayan Temple Committee has made a significant contribution in the field of education and social service. He noted that the institution has expanded its educational network across Maharashtra through schools, colleges, as well as cultural and spiritual centres.

He further stated that the newly inaugurated college building, equipped with modern smart classrooms, computer laboratories, science laboratories, and skill development centres, will provide students with high-quality education and better learning opportunities.

Shinde expressed confidence that these facilities would help students become more competent and career-ready in a rapidly changing world. He also assured that the government would extend necessary support for the continued development of the institution.

He congratulated the Shri Narayan Temple Committee, teachers, staff, students, and parents on the golden jubilee milestone and appreciated their contribution to education and society.

The event was attended by former Member of Parliament Rahul Shewale, institution president Shri M. I. Damodaran, chairman Shri N. Mohandas, general secretary Shri O. K. Prasad, S. Chandrababu, principal Mrs. Leja Shriratnan, along with a large number of teachers, students, parents, and members of the Shri Narayan Temple Committee.
