BRICS Nations Together Represent the Future of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Global Cooperation: Minister Vishvas Sarang
Cooperative, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Vishvas Kailash Sarang, addressed the BRICS Youth Entrepreneurship Working Group Meeting 2026 held in Indore and said that BRICS nations today represent the aspirations, energy, innovation capacity, and economic strength of the developing world.
The prestigious international event was organized under India’s BRICS Chairship 2026 in the gracious presence of Hon’ble Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, Smt. Raksha Khadse, Secretary, Youth Affairs, Smt. Pallavi Jain Govil, Additional Secretary, Shri Nitesh Kumar Mishra, distinguished delegates from BRICS nations, startup leaders, policymakers, academic experts, and young entrepreneurs from across the world.
Welcoming the delegates to India and Madhya Pradesh, Shri Sarang said that India has always believed in peace, partnership, human values, and global cooperation. Referring to India’s philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – The World is One Family,” he stated that India’s civilizational values continue to guide the world towards harmony, inclusive growth, and collective welfare.
Shri Sarang said that under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, India is rapidly emerging as a trusted global partner committed to innovation, entrepreneurship, youth empowerment, climate responsibility, and the development of the Global South.
He highlighted that BRICS, which began in 2006 with four nations including India, has now expanded into an influential platform of 11 member countries representing nearly half of the world’s population and contributing around 35–40 percent of global GDP in Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) terms. He said that BRICS is not merely an economic alliance, but a transformative global force shaping the future of trade, technology, innovation, and sustainable development.
The Minister said that the world has now entered the “Era of Information,” where data, technology, and knowledge are driving innovation and entrepreneurship. He remarked that when the human mind is empowered with information and technology, it generates ideas that transform into startups, entrepreneurship, and engines of economic and social transformation.
Shri Sarang also connected the significance of the day with global history and present opportunities. He noted that on May 20, 1498, Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama reached India through the sea route, opening a new era of global trade and connectivity. He said that centuries later, the world is once again gathering in India — this time to create new pathways of innovation, entrepreneurship, technology, and global cooperation through BRICS.
Referring to the observance of World Bee Day and International Human Resources Day on May 20, Shri Sarang said that just as bees symbolize teamwork, coordination, and sustainable ecosystems, human resources represent the true strength of nations. He emphasized that BRICS countries, with one of the world’s largest youth populations, possess immense potential to become a global powerhouse of skilled human capital, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Speaking about Madhya Pradesh, Shri Sarang said that the state is rapidly emerging as a leading destination for innovation, investment, industrial development, and startup growth under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. He highlighted the state’s strong connectivity, industrial corridors, startup ecosystem, investment-friendly environment, and opportunities in manufacturing, IT, agri-tech, renewable energy, and innovation sectors.
He stated that Indore, known as India’s cleanest city and Central India’s innovation hub, reflects the spirit of modern India through cleanliness, entrepreneurship, hospitality, and culture. Shri Sarang also welcomed delegates to experience the rich cultural heritage and famous culinary traditions of Madhya Pradesh, especially the iconic Indori Poha and Jalebi.
Quoting the sacred Bhagavad Gita, Shri Sarang said that India’s presidency of the 18th BRICS Summit is symbolically significant, as the Gita also contains 18 chapters that inspire humanity towards duty, selfless action, and global welfare.
He also referred to the philosophy of Integral Humanism propounded by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and said that development must remain human-centric, inclusive, and committed to the welfare of every section of society.
Shri Sarang expressed confidence that the BRICS Youth Entrepreneurship Working Group Meeting 2026 will strengthen long-term cooperation among BRICS nations and establish India and Madhya Pradesh as important global centres of innovation, investment, entrepreneurship, and youth-driven development.
He concluded by extending heartfelt greetings to all delegates and expressing hope that their visit to India and Madhya Pradesh would become a memorable experience of innovation, culture, collaboration, and friendship.
