Siyan Gudi Emerging as a Centre of Care and Respect for Senior Citizens

In Jashpur, 94 Elderly Registered; 32 Receiving Regular Physiotherapy

Health Check-ups, Counselling, Yoga, Bhajan and Sundarkand Recitation Provide Mental and Physical Support

Raipur, May 2026 : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the “Siyan Gudi” initiative in Jashpur district is emerging as an important centre for care, healthcare support, and social engagement for senior citizens.

This ambitious initiative of the Social Welfare Department has become a vital support system for the elderly in the district. So far, 94 senior citizens have been registered at the centre, out of which 32 are receiving regular physiotherapy services, helping them get relief from various physical ailments.

Recently, a specialist team from the district hospital—comprising medical officers, psychologists, psychiatric nurses, and laboratory technicians—conducted comprehensive health check-ups and blood tests for the beneficiaries of Siyan Gudi and the de-addiction centre. The team also provided necessary medical guidance, mental health counselling, and psychological support to the senior citizens.

At Siyan Gudi, elderly participants engage daily in various recreational, social, and health-promoting activities starting from 10 a.m. After the day’s activities, all registered senior citizens and staff members gather in the evening at 6 p.m. for the recitation of the Sundarkand, creating an atmosphere of spiritual peace and mental calmness.

Senior citizens benefiting from the Siyan Gudi initiative have expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, stating that the centre has become a place of dignity, care, and emotional warmth for them.

The Social Welfare Department has also appealed to all senior citizens in the district to visit Siyan Gudi in greater numbers and take advantage of the various beneficial services being provided at the centre.
