Resolve Sewer and Water Issues Within 72 Hours: MLA Dr Neeraj Bora

Lucknow, May 2026 : BJP MLA from Lucknow North Neeraj Bora on Wednesday held a review meeting with officials of the Jal Kal Department and other concerned agencies over persistent sewerage and drinking water problems in the northern parts of the state capital. Expressing strong displeasure over sewer blockages, overflowing drains, and supply of contaminated drinking water, he directed officials to resolve all major issues within 72 hours.

During the meeting, complaints related to sewer choke-ups and overflow in areas including Jankipuram, Madiaon, Saraswatipuram, Sector-F, EWS Pocket, Shiv Vihar, Faizullaganj, Keshav Nagar, Krishna Lok Colony, and Arohi Apartment Chowk were reviewed in detail. Dr Bora said repeated complaints had been received from residents of these localities, prompting immediate intervention.

The MLA also visited some of the affected areas and interacted directly with local residents to understand their grievances. He instructed officials to ensure prompt action and warned that negligence in addressing civic issues would not be tolerated.

Dr Bora expressed particular concern over the supply of dirty and foul-smelling drinking water in Rooppur Khadra and Shivlok Khadra areas. He directed the Jal Kal Department to immediately inspect water pipelines, identify leakages, and carry out necessary repairs to restore clean drinking water supply.

He stated that during the ongoing intense summer season, residents should not be forced to struggle with basic necessities such as clean water and proper sewer services. He further warned that if the problems were not resolved within the stipulated timeframe, strict departmental action would be initiated against responsible officials.

The review meeting was attended by Jal Kal General Manager Kuldeep Singh, Suez India representative Rajneesh Kumar, Executive Engineer of Jal Kal Zone-3 Manoj Kumar, and other concerned officials. The officials assured the MLA that all pending issues would be addressed within the prescribed deadline.
