Chief Secretary V. Srinivas Holds Key Meetings in New Delhi, Reviews Development and Administrative Issues
Jaipur, May 2026: Chief Secretary V. Srinivas on Friday held a series of important meetings with senior officials of the Central Government in New Delhi and discussed a range of development, infrastructure, governance, and administrative matters related to Rajasthan.
During his visit, the Chief Secretary met Cabinet Secretary Dr. T.V. Somanathan and provided an update on the progress of deregulation and compliance reduction initiatives being undertaken in Rajasthan. He also briefed the Cabinet Secretary on the implementation and progress of projects being carried out under the Gyan Bharatam Mission.
Srinivas also met V. Vumlunmang, Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, and apprised him of the effective implementation of the SNA SPARSH system in Rajasthan. He requested timely approvals for Centrally Sponsored Schemes to ensure smooth execution and faster delivery of development projects in the state.
In another key meeting, the Chief Secretary held discussions with Vivek Bhardwaj, Chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC). The discussions focused on enhancing GST revenue collection through advanced data analytics and assessing tax buoyancy across various sectors to strengthen revenue generation and improve fiscal management.
Infrastructure development, particularly railway projects, also featured prominently during the visit. Srinivas met Satish Kumar, Chairman of the Railway Board, and reviewed the progress of several major railway projects in Rajasthan. The discussions covered the Ajmer–Chanderiya, Luni–Bhildi, Jaipur–Sawai Madhopur, and Balotra–Pachpadra railway lines. The two sides also deliberated on future action plans and measures required to expedite the completion of these strategically important projects.
The Chief Secretary further met P.D. Baisakhia, Executive Director of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), and discussed matters related to the supply of limestone from Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Limited (RSMML). The discussions focused on strengthening coordination and ensuring a steady supply of raw materials for industrial requirements.
As part of his engagements, Srinivas also met Dr. Manoj Govil, Secretary (Coordination) in the Cabinet Secretariat. During the meeting, he shared details of the progress achieved by Rajasthan under Phase-II of the Deregulation and Compliance Reduction initiative. The two officials also reviewed reforms undertaken by the state to improve the Ease of Doing Business environment and facilitate investment and economic growth.
The meetings underscored Rajasthan’s continued efforts to strengthen governance reforms, accelerate infrastructure development, improve revenue administration, and enhance coordination with the Central Government for the effective implementation of key development programmes across the state.
