KTR Accuses Revanth Reddy of ‘Backstabbing’ Congress Leader Meenakshi Natarajan
Hyderabad, June 2026 : Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Sunday launched a sharp attack on Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, alleging that he had “backstabbed” senior Congress leader Meenakshi Natarajan and undermined his own party’s interests.
Addressing party workers in Hyderabad’s Khairatabad constituency, KTR claimed that Natarajan, regarded as a close aide of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, had become a victim of internal political rivalry.
According to KTR, Revanth Reddy allegedly orchestrated a false case against Natarajan in Hyderabad after she reportedly informed the Congress high command about alleged irregularities involving land deals and contracts in Telangana. He further alleged that details of the case were shared with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, resulting in the rejection of her Rajya Sabha nomination from Madhya Pradesh.
“Meenakshi Natarajan is an honest leader and a trusted associate of Rahul Gandhi. Yet she became the target of vindictive politics,” KTR alleged, accusing the Chief Minister of betraying leaders within his own party.
The BRS leader described Revanth Reddy as a politician who “backstabs his own party members” and urged the Congress leadership to examine the circumstances surrounding the controversy.
KTR also criticised the Chief Minister over his alleged remarks regarding Adolf Hitler, calling such statements inappropriate in a democratic country. He said glorifying authoritarian figures was unacceptable and reflected poorly on democratic values.
Turning his attention to governance, KTR branded the Congress government in Telangana as an “utter flop movie,” alleging that it had failed to deliver on its promises midway through its term.
“Just as one can judge whether a film is a hit or a flop from its storyline, the Congress government has been a flop since the interval,” he remarked.
The former minister accused the government of failing to fulfil key electoral commitments, including its promise to create two lakh jobs within the first year of office. He claimed that fewer than 4,000 jobs had been filled so far and alleged that the promised unemployment allowance of Rs 4,000 had not been implemented.
On women’s welfare, KTR challenged the Chief Minister’s claim of creating one crore women millionaires. “If the government proves this claim, I am ready to resign,” he said, while alleging that beneficiaries were still awaiting financial assistance.
KTR also predicted a by-election in the Khairatabad constituency, alleging that legislator Danam Nagender had betrayed the people’s mandate by joining the Congress.
He urged party workers to remain vigilant during the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls from June 25 to July 31 and called on cadre to strengthen digital membership drives to expand the party’s grassroots presence.
The remarks come amid escalating political tensions in Telangana, with both the ruling Congress and opposition BRS intensifying their attacks ahead of future electoral contests.
