Online RTI web portal launched for High Court and all district courts of the state

Raipur : Starting a new chapter towards transparency and providing facilities and empowerment to citizens and litigants, Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court, Justice Shri Ramesh Sinha today on Thursday, 05 September 2024 launched the ‘Online RTI Web Portal’ for the High Court and all the District Courts of the state. Through this portal, applications can be submitted under the Right to Information and they can be tracked in real time and through this the fee charged under the Right to Information can also be paid. Through this RTI web portal, application can be submitted to obtain information from any place in the world.

Addressing the launch session of this web portal, Chief Justice Justice Shri Ramesh Sinha said that this online portal will prove to be a milestone in the direction of transparency, accountability and citizen empowerment. The Chief Justice also said that the objective of this web portal is to make the process of obtaining information more effective, transparent and accessible to the citizens. This web portal will work as a central platform where citizens will be able to submit applications under the Right to Information and track its progress and will be able to know the responses of the officer providing the information immediately and if dissatisfied, they will be able to appeal.

The Chief Justice expressed confidence that this web portal would bring about a game changer in the way citizens access information from information providing authorities and would empower citizens to access information and ensure a transparent and responsive administration by making public authorities more accountable.

Adding another important and historic link to the series of works done by the Chief Justice to provide proper working environment to the judicial employees and to provide them facilities and for their welfare, more than 300 judicial employees were promoted at one go, in which 11 Deputy Clerks of Court posted in the District Courts were promoted to the post of Administrative Officer and the much awaited promotion of stenographers since 2008 took place in which 168 stenographers were promoted as Stenographer Class-1, 98 stenographers as Stenographer Class-2 and 23 Steno Typists were promoted as Stenographers. The much awaited promotion of employees was taken with sensitivity by the Chief Justice and so many employees were provided their legitimate rights at one go, due to which all the employees are happy. This promotion will definitely boost the morale of the employees and it will prove to be an inspiration for them to do good work with full dedication and at the same time a proper working environment will be created.
