Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Released from Jail, Welcomed by AAP Leaders and Supporters
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was released from Tihar jail and received a warm welcome from his family and senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders, including Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, and Bhagwant Mann.
Kejriwal’s parents and wife, Sunita Kejriwal, greeted him with an aarti and garlands, while the atmosphere was charged with celebration as supporters and party leaders embraced him.
After his release, Kejriwal led a roadshow from Chandgiram Akhara to his official residence. Addressing the crowd, he said, “The prison walls have strengthened my resolve a hundredfold. My life is dedicated to the service of the country.”
The Supreme Court granted him bail, emphasizing that prolonged incarceration would result in an unjust deprivation of liberty. Certain conditions were imposed on his release, including a restriction on making public comments about the case and a requirement to attend all trial court hearings unless exempted.
Kejriwal had been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy scam. Though he was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court, he had to surrender and was subsequently arrested by the CBI. His release was celebrated by a large crowd of AAP leaders and supporters.
