Pilgrimages are an undertaking for the integrity and unity of the country: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that pilgrimages have immense importance in the Sanatan Dharma. Pilgrimages are undertaken for the unity and integrity of our country. A person attains salvation by going on a pilgrimage. The Teerth Darshan Yojana connects the four Dhams and the twelve Jyotirlingas. This is the first Mukhya Mantri Teerth Darshan Yatra started from Ujjain after shifting of the Directorate of Religious Trusts and Endowments to Ujjain. He said that 1400 years ago, Adiguru Shankaracharya had started religious yatras by establishing four monasteries to connect the four Matths of India. Teerth Darshan holds the same importance in our lives as the blessings of parents, Kanyadaan of daughters, and Mukhagni by son. Going on a pilgrimage can destroy our sins and pave the way to attain salvation. Every Grahastha dreams of going on Teerth Yatras and seeking salvation (Moksha).

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was virtually addressing the inauguration of the Teerth Yatra organized in Ujjain by the Religious Trust and Endowment Department under the Mukhya Mantri Teerth Darshan Yojana from Indore on Saturday. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav flagged off the pilgrims from Ujjain to Kashi Vishwanath and Ayodhya. He said that our Char Dham and twelve Tirthas are carriers of our Sanatan tradition and immortal proof of our culture. Our government is providing free travel facilities to the elderly on pilgrimages through the Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, while extending hearty greetings and best wishes to 300 pilgrims of Ujjain district, said that we are always ready to keep the unity and integrity of the country intact. A person may be busy, but taking out some time from family routine and going on pilgrimages is the biggest challenge.

The ‘PM Shri Helicopter Service’ has also been started for pilgrimage in Madhya Pradesh. Similarly, air ambulance service is available for critical patients. The Chief Minister said that Kashi Vishwanath in Varanasi was built by Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai of Indore. Speaking virtually in Malvi dialect to four pilgrims from Ujjain district, namely Shri Prabhulal of Ajlana village, Smt. Geetabai Rathore of Badnagar, Nagda residents Shri Shambhulal and Shri Kamal Singh Rathore, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav wished them good luck for the pilgrimage. He said that all the arrangements for the pilgrims would be ensured by the administration.

Minister in charge of Ujjain district, Shri Gautam Tetwal said that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav is organizing pilgrimages for the elderly people of the state. The state government is arranging free travel in trains under the Mukhya Mantri Teerth Darshan Yojana, for those elderly people who have not been able to go on such pilgrimage due to some reason. Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country where senior citizens are being taken on pilgrimages through free air and train service. MP Shri Anil Firoziya said that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav is playing the role of Shravan Kumar. Pilgrimage is important in Sanatan Dharma. Along with providing free pilgrimage facilities to the elderly, the government is also providing benefits of many such schemes to eligible beneficiaries like Kanyadaan of daughters, free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh through Ayushman Yojana, free accommodation, etc. He said that soon a campaign to make Ayushman Cards will also be launched so that eligible people can get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. MLA Shri Anil Jain Kaluhera said that the state government’s decision to provide free pilgrimage facility to the elderly through the Teerth-Darshan Yojana is praiseworthy.

The Mukhya Mantri Teerth Darshan Yojana is an ambitious scheme of the government. Under this scheme, arrangements are made to provide free travel and darshan to senior citizens above 60 to religious and pilgrimage sites located in different states of the country. Meanwhile, the return journey of Kashi Vishwanath from Ujjain will take place on 26th September. 300 travelers from the Ujjain district have left for Kashi.
