District Level Inspection Committee Conducts Inspection of Children’s Homes in Kolasib
Kolasib : The District Level Inspection Committee, chaired by Addl. DC Pi B. Malsawmtluangi, carried out inspections today at Audrene Scism Children’s Home and Enna In Boys’ Home in Kolasib.
As part of the inspection, a meeting was held at the Project Director’s office of Audrene Scism Home and the Superintendent’s office of Enna In Boys’ Home. During the meeting, Addl. DC Pi B. Malsawmtluangi provided guidance on the role and duties of the District Level Inspection Committee. She emphasized the importance of proper care and management of children’s homes by the government and the need to follow established rules and guidelines. The team also assessed the children’s health, food, accommodation, and overall living conditions, ensuring they met the required standards.

The inspection was carried out using a thorough checklist, and the committee addressed various concerns. Additionally, a brief interaction session with the children was also conducted.
Audrene Scism Children’s Home, Kolasib, managed by the UPC (NEI), has a school within its premises. Although the Children’s Home and the school have separate heads (the Superintendent and Principal, respectively), the Project Director oversees both. Established on 16th January 1993, the home currently houses 31 children, including 12 boys and 19 girls, and employs 14 staff members.
Enna In Boys’ Home, run by the Salvation Army, was established in 1979 and moved to its current location in Kolasib Vengthar in 1980. It currently accommodates 20 boys.
